Carl H. Fischer Jr. was born in Dayton Ohio,
the son of the late Carl H. Fischer, and Betty L. Fischer.
He was baptized in St. Mark’s by the Rev. Paul Weihl, and confirmed by the
Rev. John Meister. He graduated from Fairborn High School in 1961.
He earned a bachelor of arts degree from Wittenberg University in
1969, and
a master of divinity degree from Hamma Divinity School of Theology, Springfield,
Ohio, in 1973. His ordination into the Lutheran ministry was held in St. Mark’s
on June 10, 1973. The Rev. Duane Culler was his ordination sponsor.
Pastor Fischer served at Trinity Lutheran church in Sebring, Ohio, from
1973
to 1977, and North Riverdale Lutheran Church in Dayton, Ohio, from 1977 to
1991. Since 1994 he has been pastor developer of All Shepherds Lutheran Church in
Lewis Center, Ohio, a mission congregation of the Southern Ohio Synod of the
Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
Pastor Fischer served as dean of the Northwest District, and was on the executive
board of the Ohio Synod of the Lutheran Church in America. He currently serves
on the conference council of the Central Ohio Conferences of the southwestern
Synod of the Ohio ELCA.
He has held several positions in the business
field including service as managing director and vice president of client services
and new business of the Columbus, Ohio, office of rights Associates, an international
consulting firm from 1991-1994.
